Jersey Shore man charged with intimidation after obscene phone call to family members he allegedly abused

Troy Wayne Johnson, of 322 Front St., already charged with welfare of a child, simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment, has been charged with attempting to intimidate the alleged victims from which those charges stem.

The incident began shortly before 6:40 on Sept. 10, when Lycoming Regional Police responded to Johnson’s residence for a domestic disturbance.

Visibly in distress, the alleged victim told police that she was just “a punching bag” for her 38-year-old husband, an affidavit said.

Police observed cuts and marks on her body, as well as a black and blue left eye, court documents said.

During one of the alleged assaults, Johnson pushed her up a set of steps and into their juvenile daughter, causing a rug burn on the girl’s knee, authorities allege.

“You brought all this on because of your lies and actions,” Johnson texted the alleged victim after she and their two children were transported to a friend’s house, police said.

Johnson was committed to the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $10,000 for the incident and was ordered to have no contact with the victims. However, three days later, Johnson called the alleged victim on a recorded line from the prison, ordering her to contact a bail bondsman, stating that he wanted out of prison that night, according to court documents.

Shortly into the call, the juvenile female took the phone and greeted Johnson.

“I don’t want to talk to you right now,” Johnson said to the girl, before referring to her and her mother as “(Expletive) narcs,” an affidavit said.

“(Expletive) you too. (Expletive) all you (expletives),” Johnson replied when greeted by his 8-year-old son, before going on to use a racial slur.

Johnson then repeated his order for the alleged victim to get him out of jail that night, telling her the house is in his name.

“I hope you and those (expletive) kids burn in a (expletive) fire tonight,” Johnson was heard saying to the alleged victim, an affidavit said.

“If I’m not out of here by tomorrow morning, I will make every aspect of your life hell,” Johnson said to the alleged victim, before stating “you haven’t seen it yet, I promise you,” police allege.

Throughout the call, he continued to refer to the alleged victim and their children in vulgar, crude language.

“(Expletive), they didn’t. They called the cops,” Johnson said to the alleged victim after she told him of the impact his actions were having on the children, stressing that they did nothing to him, according to court documents.

He then hurled a sexual slur at the boy, at which point the call ended.

Arraigned on two cases each of intimidation, retaliation or obstruction in child abuse cases and retaliation against a witness, victim or party, by District Judge Denise Dieter, Johnson remains incarcerated at the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $45,000 for this case.
