Two Williamsport men face felony drug charges in separate cases

After his alleged involvement in selling methamphetamine or crack cocaine to informants on several occasions in the city between Sept. 4 and Oct. 4, Miguel Knight bolted from law enforcement when officers tried to take him into custody shortly after the final sale, it was alleged in court papers filed by a detective assigned to the county’s Narcotics Enforcement Unit. However, on his 46th birthday last week, Knight was in custody and arraigned before District Judge Kirsten Gardner on a total of 15 charges, including seven counts of delivery of a controlled substance and four counts of illegal use of a cellphone, all felonies.

Knight, of 868 Park Ave., has been charged with two counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance as well as one count each of evading arrest and tampering with evidence by throwing his cellphone while running from police in an apparent attempt to prevent detectives from obtaining information from it for their investigation. It was unknown if the cellphone was ever recovered and there was no information regarding how or where Knight was arrested. Following his arraignment, he was committed to the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $100,000 bail.

Concerning another drug arrest made by the narcotics unit, Brett Michael Boyer, a convicted drug dealer, has been charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, illegal possession of firearms and convicted felon not to possess firearms. These felony charges stem from detectives seizing 40 grams of marijuana from his city home at 640 Second Avenue as well as two rifles he allegedly hid in the trunk of his girlfriend’s car, parked outside his house, on Oct. 25, according to an affidavit. Arraigned last week before Whiteman, Boyer was jailed in lieu of $15,000 bail.

Starting at $2.99/week.
