Motorist Gerald Thomas Jones Jr., 35, of 609 Locust St., will face further court action after he waived his preliminary hearing last week on a Muncy police misdemeanor charge of fleeing law enforcement that stems from a brief pursuit on Dec. 24 that took place on Route 15 in Brady Township and continued onto Russell Road near the Lycoming-Union county line in Gregg Township.

At that point, the officer terminated his involvement due to safety concerns, according to a court document at the office of District Judge Kirsten Gardner. However, the officer spotted Jones in his pickup truck minutes later on River Road and continued the pursuit, which quickly ended when Jones pulled over to the side of the road. Jones is free on $5,000 bail.
