Old Lycoming Township man allegedly assaulted 2 children
Robert John Moyer, 27, of 2200 Lycoming Creek Road, has been arrested on assault-related charges after he is alleged to have struck two children who had been left in his care on Oct. 14 while their mother went on a few errands, state police said in an affidavit. When the mother returned home, she noticed “visible bruises” on both her children; one had them on the left side of their face while the other had them on their legs and lower back, police said. When questioned by an officer, Moyer admitted to “utilizing physical forms of discipline” on both minors in the mother’s apartment on Sherwood Drive in Clinton Township, the court document stated. Arraigned before District Judge Kirsten Gardner on two felony counts each of aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of children plus one count each of simple assault and harassment, Moyer was initially jailed, but has since been released on $50,000 bail.
