‘Mom Prom’ back in April
The Annual Williamsport Mom Prom returns April 18, but its organizers already are looking for volunteers and contributors.
Williamsport Mom Prom selected Uptown Music Collective as the beneficiary of this year’s event proceeds, according to a news release.
“As their goal is to provide much needed assistance to provide a detailed educational program that enrolls students of all ages with an exceptional music education program and high-impact musical experiences that instill a love of music and an understanding of the importance of discipline, hard work and community,” the news release said of the Uptown Music Collective.
The Williamsport Mom Prom started in 2014 and is an annual “lady’s night out” for charity.
“It is a time for girlfriends to get together and have fun for a charity,” the news release said. “Every year our theme changes as well as our beneficiary to receive the raised proceeds each year. All monies raised stay here locally to help our community.”
The event has helped an array of groups such as Lycoming County United Way, Lifting Little Lives, Helping our Warriors, individual families confronted by catastrophic events and medical conditions, and mental health and cognitive disability groups.
The theme this year is the 1980s. Sponsorship Tables are available now and can be arranged at the Genetti Hotel’s front desk. Tickets go on sale Feb. 1 at the Genetti Hotel, Robert M. Sides Music Center, Hull’s Landing, and Uptown Music Collective.
The event will feature D.J. Kevin Head, contests, raffles and the crowning of a prom queen.
More information and opportunities to help can be found on the Williamsport Mom Prom’s Facebook page.
