Footsteps to Follow: Is your life proof?

Proof means “evident.”

We hear so many stories that we need proof for the things that are not important. If you have to cash a check, get a loan, or buy insurance, you need proof. Getting help for small churches, you have to have proof that you can pay back a loan.

Do you have proof that you believe in God and Jesus Christ? Does your life, without telling someone, show that you are living proof?

Second Corinthians 2:9 tells us: “For to this end I also wrote, that I might put you to the test, whether you are obedient in all things” (NKJV).

Sometimes we have to test things to see if they are really what is needed. We need to be obedient. To be obedient, we need proof within ourselves. We need to know that what is asked of us by God in Jesus Christ is the right thing to do. There is a difference between God’s holiness and the world. It has been proven that what we do for Christ will last.

Second Corinthians 8:24 states: “Therefore show to them, and before the churches, the proof of your love and of our boasting on your behalf.”

I heard that “the proof is in the pudding.” How we value things can be seen. Showing is believing. When you walk into some churches, you can’t see the love, no matter how hard you look. Sometimes people want to talk the talk, but there is no proof. Then when it comes time to walk the walk, there is still no proof. People want to boast about Christian love, but it needs to be seen, talked and walked. It can look like lukewarmness. Can you show Christ’s real love and that it is seen?

Second Corinthians 13:3 says: “Since you seek a proof of Christ speaking in me, who is not weak toward you, but mighty in you.”

We like seeking proof of those who are speaking the word of Christ Jesus. God can use anybody He wants. Just because people are weak in some areas, God can still use them. You are weak in some areas too. That is why you must know the Spirit of God. Then Christ shows up and then the proof that comes from our Father God.

Philippians 2:22 tells us about Timothy’s work with Paul: “But you know his proven character, that as a son with his father he served with me in the gospel.”

Some people walk the character of being trained already. Some children become like their parents. Just watching a person, you can often tell what family they belong to. This can be a “proven character.”

This is just like Jesus who was so much like his Father. He was always about the Gospel that gives life from our Father. Do you need any more proof? If we walk like Jesus, we have proof of the family we belong to.

Second Timothy 4:5 reads: “But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.”

My life is proof that God in Jesus is so real. I have watched the works, and they prove it by themselves. My life has endured so much affliction in doing the Word as a worker of God, showing the world that Jesus is alive through God. This proves the full effect of the ministry to each of our lives.

How about you? Is your life proof? Is your talk proof? Is your walk proof of our Savior, Jesus Christ?

Christ wants our life to be proof that he died on the cross for us. Now show that your life is proof of the suffering that Jesus gave for us.
