In celebration of 25 years of ministry, service and community transformation, Sojourner Truth Ministries, Inc. (STM) has announced an open house from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at 501 High St.
Community members, faith partners, and local leaders are encouraged to attend and celebrate this milestone together.
The event will include simple refreshments, tours and historical displays, as well as a special commendation ceremony at 2 p.m., recognizing Sojourner Truth Ministries for its enduring commitment to serving neighbors in need and fostering dignity, and belonging in the Williamsport area, according to information from STM.
“Twenty-five years of service is a powerful testimony to what can happen when faith, compassion, and community come together,” said Rev. Angelique Labadie-Cihanowyz, executive director. “We are deeply grateful for every volunteer, donor and friend who has walked alongside us in this mission.”
Since its founding in 2000, Sojourner Truth Ministries has provided meals six days per week, outreach programs, and supportive services to individuals and families facing hardship in Williamsport and surrounding communities. The open house is both a look back at STM’s journey and a celebration of what lies ahead as the organization continues to expand its ministries and partnerships.
STM is a Christian, faith-based nonprofit organization serving the Williamsport community through meals (Monday through Saturday lunches), outreach, spiritual care, After School Kids programming, and programs that encourage individuals and families to take the next step toward sustainability.
Guided by the legacy of Sojourner Truth, STM is dedicated to serving “the least of these” with compassion, respect, and faith in action.
