Muncy Township supervisors approve bids
PENNSDALE — It’s that time of year when paving roads is a priority and the Muncy Township board of supervisors approved a bid through the SEDA-Council of Governments Wednesday night for materials to pave township roads this summer.
The bid of just under $60,000 for bituminous seal from Hammaker East Ltd., was approved by the board. Roads to be paved are: sections of Black Hollow, Griggs, Baum, Weister Woods, Metzger, Drick and Heidi Gray.
Another SEDA-COG bid from O. H. Striping Inc., Corning, New York, was approved. The township has 40,000 feet of lines that need painted. The cost per bid of single 4-inch white lines is $0.05 per linear foot and for double yellow lines the cost is $0.09 per linear foot.
In other business, the board approved a request from the township fire department to allow its members to attend an open house at the Pennsdale Methodist Church on June 24. Board approval is necessary so members of the fire department are covered under the township’s workmen’s compensation.
Supervisors present were Matthew W. Doyle, Gary Harmon Jr. Thomas Schaech was absent.
The next meeting of the board will be at 7:30 p.m. July 11 at the township building, 1922 Pond Road.
