Construction grant OKed by Muncy Township
PENNSDALE — Muncy Township Supervisors voted to accept the bid of $112,000 submitted by Creekside Concrete for a salt and cinder building, at its meeting Wednesday night.
The 30-foot by 55-foot cement block building will be near the Township Building on Pond Road.
In other business, the board approved advertising a special meeting at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 12 to discuss a request to abandon Gatz Road, a non-maintained road in the township. According to Office Manager Gwen Pidcoe, the action was taken in preparation for construction of a facility by Geisinger Medical Center in the township. Pidcoe said the request for a height variance by Geisinger was recently approved.
The board also approved a maintenance agreement with Lecce Electric for $5,715 to maintain traffic lights in the township.
A disaster relief declaration was signed at the meeting, Pidcoe said. This was done in case state money for disasters becomes available.
The next meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 12 at the township building, 1922 Pond Road.
