Citizen’s Hose Fire Co., Jersey Shore, responded to a gas leak along Tombs Run Road off of Canoe Run Road in Mifflin Township around 1 p.m. Thursday. It was reported that three homes in the area were evacuated. UGI Utilities Inc. was on the scene of the leak, although representatives of the area gas company could not be reached for further details. As of 9:30 p.m., the fire department still was on the scene, but had not released any information as to the cause. It did say the problem may not be resolved until today. A gas odor could be detected at the scene around 4:30 p.m.
