Montoursville school district approves busing rates

The Montoursville Area School Board met briefly to consider bus rates and other business during its regular monthly meeting Tuesday night.

The daily transportation rates for Promiseland Busing, which provides for special needs students, were approved for the 2018-19 school year.

It was noted that its rates are based on a state formula plan.

The board approved a contract with Conrad Siegel to provide mandatory Affordable Care Act reporting for the school at a cost of $6,850.

The Harrisburg firm helps school districts and other clients with designing and managing employee benefits programs.

In personnel matters, the board extended a professional employee contract to Sadie Fellinger, elementary teacher. Fellinger has completed three years of satisfactory service on a temporary basis.

The board accepted the resignation of Tricia Moser as a cafeteria worker.

Superintendent Christina Bason announced that Lyter Elementary School was honored as a Title 1 distinguished school.
