1 dead in car accident
A 35-year-old Williamsport man was killed early Wednesday morning when he lost control of his 2005 Ford Explorer that crashed on Kaiser Hollow Road, four miles north of Montoursville, state police said.
Bryan Waugh was pronounced dead at the scene following the 3:45 a.m. crash in Upper Fairfield Township, Lycoming County Coroner Charles E. Kiessling Jr. said.
Waugh was traveling east on Kaiser Hollow Road when he “overcompensated a right-hand curve in the road, traveled into the westbound lane and down an embankment (before) striking a tree,” Trooper Garrett Shnyder said.
Jerold Ross, the county’s chief deputy coroner, responded to the scene and pronounced Waugh dead of upper body trauma injuries.
Montoursville volunteer firefighters and fire police responded to the accident.
