‘Mover and shaker’: Recently finished mosaic symbolizes Williamsport’s art roles

Dave Stabley, ceramics and sculpture professor at Pennsylvania College of Technology, and Carol Cillo, Clinton County Arts Council member, said the hardest part of their 15-foot-tall mosaic was the layout. The design spells “ARTS” on the south side of the Firestone building along Market Street facing East Fourth Street and features hand-cut pieces of granite, tile, marble, mirror and glass set in place with mortar. The artwork symbolizes Williamsport’s role as “a mover and shaker” in the arts, said the makers.
