South Williamsport borough to start $2.3M paving project

30 streets on list to be resurfaced

South Williamsport Borough Council agreed this week to borrow $2.3 million for a two-year paving project that will begin in September and continue through next August.

About 30 streets need resurfacing, according to borough manager Steven W. Cappelli.

One of the 30 streets will be East Seventh Avenue, a busier street in the borough, he said.

The loan carries a 3.247 percent interest rate with final maturity on Dec. 1, 2038.
