Commissioners consider HVAC system for Third Street Plaza

Lycoming County commissioners discussed engineering design and related work for a heating/cooling system at the Third Street Plaza building at their Tuesday meeting.

Several firms submitted costs which appear to be a bit high for the project, according to county officials.

It was noted that the prices were not officially considered bids.

Hunt Engineering, Gannett Plumbing and Arris Engineering submitted costs ranging from $325,000 to $371,555.

Commissioners have discussed consolidating government services in the building at 330 Pine St.

Although some functions of county government are housed at the site, much of the building remains empty.

Commissioners approved an agreement with Edward J. Rymsza for legal representation of Noah Stroup for $75,000

Stroup faces charges of homicide and robbery connected to the death of Rhonda McPeak at a Williamsport convenience store earlier in the summer.

Also at the meeting, commissioners approved Albert Monitoring Services for cyber security needs.

Commissioners are expected to fill several job positions later this week at their next meeting, to be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in Executive Plaza, 330 Pine St.
