Trick-or-treating, other festivities approaching

Williamsport, South Williamsport, Loyalsock Township, DuBoistown, Montoursville, Old Lycoming Township, Muncy and Jersey Shore all will observe trick-or-treating from 6 to 8 p.m., Oct. 31. Montgomery and Hughesville will observe trick-or-treating from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Oct. 31 following a Halloween parade in each community at 6 p.m.

Lycoming Mall will participate in trick-or-treating from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Monday. Retailers in downtown Williamsport also will have an early trick-or-treating event from 4 to 5:30 p.m., Tuesday.

Further events in the Williamsport and surrounding areas include the Hiawatha Halloween Costume Cruise happening from 1 to 3 p.m., Saturday. The event will have different games and crafts for kids under 12 with candy, music and goodie bags. Growing Awareness Inc. will be holding a Monster Mash Trunk-or-Treat Saturday at the South Williamsport Community Park with sensory-friendly hour from 3 to 4 p.m. and regular festivities from 4 to 5 p.m.

Many local churches will host events, including the Balls Mills United Methodist Church, which will be holding their Trunk-or-Treat from 10:15 to 11 a.m. after Sunday service, Calvary Baptist Church’s Harvest Night with candy, facepainting, games and other refreshments from 5 to 7 p.m., Saturday, a trunk-or-treat event at 5:30 p.m. Sunday at New Covenant United Church of Christ and Antioch Baptist Church’s Hallo-Spirit event at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Other events include:

• Revolution Fitness and Nutrition in Muncy Trunk-or-Treat and family-themed costume contest from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday.

• Limitless Mobile Trunk-or-Treat with hot cider from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at 508 W. Southern Ave.

• VFW in Muncy Truck-or-Treat from 6 to 8 p.m. on Oct. 31.

• Stevens Primary PTA Trunk-or-Treat from 12 to 2 p.m. on Nov. 2.
