County commissioners act on personnel

Lycoming County Commissioners took action on personnel and other business during their meeting Thursday.

Dustin Mitchley was hired as a correctional officer for the county prison at a pay rate of $16.81 per hour and Abigail Burley as a resident supervisor at the Pre-Release Center at $14.14 per hour.

The vote to hire the two personnel was 3-0.

Voting in favor were Commissioners Rick Mirabito, Jack McKernan and Tony Mussare.

In other personnel action, commissioners agreed to add four part-time central processing officers for the district attorney’s office.

Commissioners approved an assignment of agreement of sale with Armstrong Township for the Sylvan Dell Conservation Project.

The project entails creation of a natural conservation and recreation site in the township.

The county helped secure grants and committed $375,000 toward the plan.

Commissioners approved a Pennsylvania Housing and Affordability and Rehabilitation Enhancement (PHARE) agreement with the city of Williamsport for rental housing upgrades.

Addressing landfill needs, commissioners approved purchase agreements with ProChoice Holdings Inc. for lubrication services and Core and Main for HDPE pipe at $20,271.

Jason Yorks, director of county Resource Management Services, noted the piping will be used for gas collection and other purposes.

Commissioners also approved an agreement of $1,668 with QED Environmental Systems, Inc. for landfill gas well accessories and its annual contract with Mahantango Enterprises, Inc. for tire recycling.

Also at the meeting, commissioners approved an agreement with Scotilla Psychological Services LLC for the county public defenders office and a resolution to sell county surplus property.

Commissioners officially proclaimed November as Infant Safe Sleep Month.

The next commissioners meeting is set for 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3 at Executive Plaza, 330 Pine St., Williamsport.
