County commissioners approve contracts
Lycoming County commissioners took action on several agreements and discussed upcoming business at their meeting Tuesday.
Commissioners approved the Savin Maintenance and Service contract with the Pennsylvania District Attorney’s Institute covering victim notification.
Under the agreement, victims of crimes and their families are notified when the offenders are released from prison.
The vote was 2-0 in favor of the agreement.
Voting yes were Commissioners Rick Mirabito and Scott Metzger.
Tony Mussare was absent.
Also approved by commissioners was the inmate housing agreement with Clinton County to accommodate Lycoming County prisoners.
The contract comes at a daily cost of $70 per prisoner.
Commissioners approved purchase of various supplies from APR Supply Co. at a cost of $11,983 for work at the Third Street Plaza.
This Thursday, commissioners are expected to consider a three-year $54,933 agreement with KOVA Corp. to provide maintenance and support for the county’s 911 and radio system.
Also coming before commissioners will be an amendment to an engineering services agreement with Larson Design Group for a county bridge project and a quote with CDW-G for email security services at a cost of $15,146.
In personnel matters, commissioners will consider adding two assistant county detectives to the district attorney’s office. Last week, District Attorney Ryan Gardner requested the addition of the two positions as part of the reorganization of his office.
Commissioners are being asked to hire Nicole West as an administrative assistant with the Department of Public Safety at an hourly wage of $16.59.
Thursday’s meeting is set for 10 a.m. at Executive Plaza, 330 Pine St., Williamsport.
