City crews begin brush and yard debris collection
The piles of yard debris are showing up in Williamsport, and that means the streets and parks crews will be around.
The crews began to collect yard debris on Monday, and reduced each crew to protect the employees and public as the city follows guidelines from federal state and local health professionals during the COVID-19 pandemic, Mayor Derek Slaughter said.
The city has one operator per truck to maintain the social distancing requirements, Slaughter said.
“We want people to put the loose debris on the curbline,” he said.
City crews will keep a continuous cycle through May collecting yard debris.
“We ask people to be patient,” Slaughter said.
City public works officials discouraged use of the city brush pile at this time to keep people safe during the pandemic.
