Update for Friends and Fans of the Uptown Music Collective

The last three weeks have brought previously unfathomable changes. All of us find ourselves living today in a different world.

We want all of you to know that in spite of the changes and challenges that we face today. That we are still here. And most importantly, that we are still dedicated to making sure that the world we find ourselves in today, and tomorrow will continue to be filled with beautiful music.

In response to the Governor’s order, we shut down our school’s facilities on March 13th. However, that same day we went into high gear to ensure that we could move our educational offerings online. Each week since, our lessons, classes, and workshops have been delivered to all of our students through online platforms.

While our live performances at local venues are being canceled. Our students continue raising their voices and finding inspiring music on their instruments. They have just moved their musical performances to online venues. Like Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram through the school’s video series, #QuaranTunes.

Remember, even as we all distance ourselves physically, we can still connect with each other through music. Be sure to check out our Facebook page, Instagram and YouTube videos. Let our students continued enthusiasm and love for their art inspire you, and please leave your comments to inspire them.

We look forward to seeing all of you again soon when this dark cloud is lifted. In the meantime, please keep yourselves, your families, and your community safe. Be the light in the darkness. We are all in this together.
