Township supervisors discuss cable TV franchise agreement

AVIS– The Pine Creek Township Supervisors met in person on Wednesday for their monthly meeting; no action was taken, though the supervisors did discuss the renewal of their Comcast franchise agreement.

The supervisors are in the beginning of the process to renew their agreement. They have six months to take action and have a meeting to discuss citizens’ comments on their experience with Comcast.

If the supervisors do not take action within the allotted 6-month time period, they will not continue to receive franchise fees that they are currently receiving from Comcast.

In another business matter, Dennis Greenaway, supervisor, wanted to warn citizens about the use of fireworks during the Fourth of July weekend.

“Be careful with fireworks,” he said. “Alcohol and fireworks do not mix.”

The next Pine Creek Township meeting will be held at 10 a.m., Aug. 5, in the township building at 31 Municipal Drive.
