Jersey Shore plays in semifinals

For the second consecutive season, Jersey Shore’s football team is playing in the PIAA Class AAAA semifinals.

The Bulldogs travel to District 3 champion Lampeter-Strasburg tonight for a 7 p.m. kickoff. The winner will play in the state championship Saturday, Nov. 28.

Branden Wheary has led the Bulldogs offense with 1,562 passing yards and has 20 passing touchdowns. Cam Allison has a team-high 910 rushing yards and Cayden Hess leads the team with 694 receiving yards and seven touchdowns.

The Bulldogs won the District 4 championship with a 54-0 rout over Shamokin and defeated District 2 champion Crestwood in the state quarterfinals last week, 26-14. Lampeter-Strasburg beat Conrad Weiser, 56-35, to advance to the quarterfinals. In the quarterfinals, Lampeter-Strasburg then beat ELCO, 20-3.
