Man found dead in Loyalsock Township

Pennsylvania State Police and the Lycoming County Coroner are investigating the death of a homeless man in Loyalsock Township.

Charles Kiessling, the county coroner, explained he is still in the process of reaching out to find the family of the deceased man, who was discovered on the bike path.

Kiessling is reluctant to decide the cause of the man’s death until he obtains the man’s medical records from UPMC Williamsport. However, he said it seems like a natural death, and could have been hypothermia.

The man’s body was found by someone who saw it from the bike path, according to Kiessling. The deceased man was known to frequent the Market Street Bridge across the Susquehanna river.

Pennsylvania State Police said the death occurred on or around Jan. 8 or 9, and do not suspect foul play.

Updates will be released as they become available.
