South Williamsport, East Lycoming school districts update plans
Two school districts in Lycoming County updated the public Saturday on plans for remote or in-person learning this week.
The East Lycoming School District notified the families of students on Saturday that the high school will remain in remote instruction through Jan. 6.
The message stated the extension of remote instruction is due to COVID and staffing concerns.
Junior/senior high school students will return to in-person instruction on Thursday, Jan. 7.
All East Lycoming elementary buildings will reopen as planned on today.
South Williamsport Area School District also shared a message on social media Saturday that remote learning will continue for the district this week. The district’s Facebook post said “in-person learning for all students is tentatively planned” to resume Jan. 11.
South Williamsport Area School District said certain students with special needs would resume in-person learning today.
