Frisco announces bid for Loyalsock Township supervisor

Lauren Baumann Frisco is announcing her candidacy for Loyalsock Township supervisor. Frisco lives in Loyalsock with her family and is a first-time candidate for office. She will circulate her nomination petition as a Democratic candidate for the May 18 primary.
“Loyalsock is an ideal place to raise a family,” she said, according to a news release. “As a parent of two young children, I am especially focused on Loyalsock’s future.”
Frisco has a bachelor’s degree in history and a master of divinity degree from the Earlham School of Religion. Upon arriving to the area, she initially worked for Novitas Solutions as an appeals representative. She also worked for several years as a paralegal and as a youth group leader. Currently, Frisco is a regular volunteer with the Pre-School at St. Luke’s in Williamsport.
Frisco’s vision for the future of Loyalsock includes strengthening pedestrian and vehicular safety on East Third Street, encouraging simple, inexpensive landscaping measures to better control stormwater and enhance the look of commercial areas, promoting further development of youth-focused recreation with more low-tech, low-cost options for families, like a roller-skating rink or miniature golf course, and developing automobile charging stations.
“General Motors has announced that the company will stop building combustion engines in 15 years. Our commercial area will achieve increased success if plans are made now,” her news release said. “The stations will draw more customers to our hotels, retail stores and restaurants.”
“Loyalsock Township supervisors have nurtured a community that has prospered. I would like to have a seat at the table, to help continue efforts to improve our area,” said Frisco.
She and her husband, Doug, moved
to the area in 2012 and bought their
first home in Loyalsock Township in 2014. She is an outdoor enthusiast and loves the natural beauty of the region. She is especially fond of running on the River Walk and taking advantage of the easy access to hiking trails and biking paths in the area.
