Council resumes in-person meetings

City Council will resume in-person council meetings at 7 p.m. June 24 at the Trade and Transit Centre II on the third floor.

The vote was 5 to 0 on the resolution with President Randall J. Allison, Liz Miele, Bonnie Katz, Vincent Pulizzi and Dave Banks in favor. Councilmen Adam Yoder and Jon Mackey were absent.

The vote is timed with Gov. Tom Wolf and the state Joint COVID-19 Task Force lifting mitigation except for masking as set by the U.S. Center for Disease and Control and Prevention.

Council approved installation of an remanufactured engine for a diesel bus at River Valley Transit. The estimate was about $28,103.

The cost for the remanufactured engine installation was to be taken out of a $750,000 fleet maintenance budget, said Adam Winder, RVT general manager.

Council approved an agreement on salt and cinder supplies with the city and Lycoming County.

The agreement does not affect city supplies or taxpayer dollars, Winder, who is acting manager of the city streets and parks department, said.

The county wanted salt/cinder supplies from the city because its stockpile is on Route 15, Winder said.
