Williamsport ups parking costs
It will cost an average of $5 more to park in the City of Williamsport starting March 1.
The Williamsport Parking Authority increased monthly parking fees at a meeting this week.
The authority has not increased permit rates in more than 10 years, said Dave Kish, operations manager.
Since that time, expenses associated with parking operations have increased, including snow removal, maintenance, utilities and insurance, he said.
The cost for general lots has gone from $40 to $45 per month. For general lots, auto debit costs of $38 will go to $43, and for reserved, it will go from $50 to $55.
For parking in the premium lots, regular cost of $50 will be $55; auto debit, $53; and reserved, $65.
For the lots near the authority office, at 270 W. Third St., which has seven spaces, it will be $75 for regular and $3 off for auto debit.
For the garages, it will be $65, $63, and $75 for reserved.
The increase is $5 more per month for regular parking, $3 for auto debit and $5 more for reserved parking.
Voting were Anthony Cipolla, authority chairman; Jared Kinley; and Tony Nardi.
