Injured Utah Little Leaguer recovering from surgery in Danville

Easton Oliverson, an outfielder and pitcher for Snow Canyon Little League, suffered serious injuries after falling from a dormitory bunk bed late Sunday or early Monday morning, according to the St. George News of St. George, Utah.

Oliverson was flown by helicopter from South Williamsport to Danville to receive treatment. Oliverson, 12, had emergency surgery at Geisinger, according to the Salt Lake Tribune.

“We have been told from his family that his current condition is critical but we are optimistic with some of the early signs he has recently shown,” said a statement from the Snow Canyon Little League all-stars to the St. George News.

“He went through pretty traumatic surgery to get to where he’s at, but the doctors are all really positive,” Spencer Beck, Oliverson’s uncle, told the Salt Lake Tribune.

“Our prayers are with this player, family and team today,” Utah Gov. Spencer Cox said on social media, according to the St. George News.
