Financial and payroll services explored by Williamsport

The city is exploring purchase of financial management software for records keeping.

City Council’s Finance Committee reviewed a resolution accepting a contract with BS&A Software for online financial management services.

Costs are $137,045 for implantation and service of $53,895 annual service fees.

All departments would use it, Mayor Derek Slaughter said. The system will be ready in a year to 18 months.

The service is for records keeping, accounts payable and receivable and more real time financial data input.

Eventually, the software may be used for permits.

The firm is expected to be at the council meeting Thursday.

A proposed contract also is up for discussion for Paytime for online city Human Resources and Payroll services. The system would debut, if council approved it, on April 1.
