Gerald A. McGee
Gerald A. McGee, 83, of Cascade Township, Trout Run, died Monday, June 5, 2017, at the Williamsport Home.
Born April 25, 1934, in Williamsport, he was a son of Hugh E. and Elizabeth (Kranz) McGee. He and his wife the former Marie L. Haus were married Nov. 26, 1959.
Jerry was a 1953 graduate of St. Mary’s High School and was a Marine Corp Veteran of the Korean War. He served as a police officer for the City of Williamsport, retiring as a detective after 21 and half years. Following his retirement from the Williamsport Police Dept., he was elected to serve as a Magisterial Judge for 18 years. Jerry was a life member of the following: Marine Corp League, Ralston, Liberty VFW Post No. 6755, Sebring, Morris Run American Legion No. 167, Fraternal Order of Police Lodge No. 29 and the Arnot Sportmans Club. He was a member of the Travelers Protective Association of America Post W, Williamsport. He had served as a National Director and Past Sate President of the TPA.
Surviving in addition to his wife Marie of 57 years are four children, Gerald A. McGee Jr. (Kimberly), of South Williamsport, Michael S. McGee (Sharon), of Loyalsock, Elaine M. Brandt (Paul), of Telford, and Patricia A. McGee, of Cascade; eight grandchildren; and four greatgrandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a grandson, Jacob A. Jones; and two brothers, Hugh E. McGee Sr. and Joseph J. McGee.
Visitation will be held from 9-10:45 a.m. Saturday June 10, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 100 Walnut St., Montoursville, followed by a Memorial Mass to honor Gerald’s life at 11 a.m. followed by military honors at church.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in memory of his grandson Jacob A. Jones, to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Central PA Chapter, 2405 Park Drive Suite 100, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
