Mary H. (Bloom) Boatman

Mary H. (Bloom) Boatman, 91, of Montoursville, passed away Tuesday evening, Dec. 11, 2018, at Arista Care, Loyalsock. Mary was born in Williamsport, to the late Donald and Elmira (Cooper) Bloom on Feb. 18, 1927.

Mary was of Lutheran faith. She was lover of animals, especially cats and dogs. Mary volunteered her time at the SPCA since 1991. She earned the title of the “Biscuit Lady”, because she would give treats to the dogs and cats there. Mary would also give the cats crumpled up balls of paper to play with. She was an avid reader, gardener and liked to go to the movies. She also loved to spend time with her family, cook, drive and go to yard sales.

Mary is survived by a son, James D. Boatman (Tina M.), of Montoursville, a very good friend, Bonnie Fenstermacher and four nieces. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, James C. Boatman, a daughter, Ann L. Walters, and a sister, June Eck.

Funeral services will take place Monday, Dec. 17, at 6 p.m., at Maneval Allen Redmond Cremation & Funeral Home, 500 W. Fourth St., Williamsport, with Reverend Mark D. Brumbach officiating. Friends and family are welcome to a visitation from 5 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be private for the family at Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Mary’s name be made to the Lycoming County SPCA, 2805 Reach Rd. Williamsport, PA 17701.
