Beverly Proctor

On May 10th a loving wife, mother, step-mother and me-me went to heaven to become a guardian angel for all those who she loved.

Beverly Proctor, 82, daughter of the late Geraldine Tomb and James Chandlee, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones.

Married on Oct. 14, 1978, Beverly spent the last 41 years of her life with her soulmate, James Proctor. The two of them genuinely just loved being together and enjoying one another’s company. They did everything together…fishing, hunting, baking cookies, playing cards with friends, planting flowers, enjoying the birds in their backyard, and so much more. They were always there for each other and it was that way right till the end.

Beverly had three children who she loved dearly and two step-children she loved like her own. But what Beverly loved more than anything, was being Me-Me to five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. This was an honor to her and she loved every minute of it!

She gave her grandchildren the gift of wonderful memories that will last a lifetime. Memories of fishing, camping, going to yard sales, playing cards, fun-filled sleepovers and many, many more. Me-Me loved reading books to her grandchildren; reading our favorites, “Santa Mouse” and “Button Soup,” over and over again.

Having great-grandchildren put her over the moon! She always would say how lucky she was to be able to be a great-grandmother. They may not have been as lucky as the rest of us to have been able to share more years with her, but they know she loved them and they were lucky enough to have special memories of their own. They will never forget the pickled eggs she would make special for them, the fried fish made from fish caught by her and granddad, her amazing macaroni and cheese that we all loved, and of course books…she was always buying them books.

She loved her pets and spoiled them rotten! There was Pudgy, Tipper, Skezik, Tom Cat and her current babies, her cats, Boots and Buddy, who will miss her just as much as everyone else.

She is survived by her husband, James Proctor; a brother, James Chandlee; a son, Robert Hillyard; a daughter, Cheryl (Clyde) McCloskey; a step-son, Bradley Proctor; a step-daughter, Mistie (Donald) Metcalf; four granddaughters, Shanna (JC) Keefer, Kristi (Chris Frock) McCloskey, Kelli (Josh Aucker) McCloskey, and Sheena (Zach Barber) Metcalf; one grandson, Douglas (Kayla) Metcalf; and nine great-grandchildren; Alexis, Kayden, Jackson, Isaac, Wyatt, Layne, Anthony, Rebekkah and Hannah.

In addition to her parents, Beverly is preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Hillyard; a brother, Frank Chandlee; and a sister, Esther Lehman.

Surrounded by her beautiful flowers, a private celebration of her life will be held on June 9, for her family at her home.

To best honor her memory, the family respectfully suggest that contributions in memory of Mrs. Beverly Proctor be made, if so desired, to the Lycoming County SPCA, 2805 Reach Road, Williamsport, PA. 17701.
