Charles E. Crain

Charles E. Crain, 74, devoted husband and father, of Muncy, passed away in his home on Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2019. He was born in Williamsport, on Oct. 11, 1944. He was the son of the late Dave M. and Hulda J. (Pentz) Crain. Charles was preceded in death by Kellie M. (Rohm) Crain, his wife of nearly 50 years.

Charles honorably served his country by joining the U.S. Navy right after high school and married his bride on June 6, 1964. He worked at GTE Sylvania in Montoursville for many years and later was employed at American Home Foods.

Charles enjoyed playing his guitar, gardening, woodworking and cooking. He was a member of Delaware Run Wesleyan Church where he sang in the choir, participated in the Empty Nest fellowship and helped with many community dinners.

Charles is survived by his two daughters, Tina and husband Robert Leedom, Colorado Springs, Colo., and Greta and husband Jim Eshbach, Montoursville; four grandchildren, Brittany (Tim) Montgomery, Montoursville, Melissa O’Connor, Conshohocken, Katie (Nate) Bland, and Aaron Leedom, Colorado Springs, Colo.; five great-grandchildren, Aidan O’Connor, Faith Montgomery, Addy Montgomery, Blake Montgomery, and Savannah Bland. He is also survived by his sister, Irene (Don) Wilson, of Montoursville. He was preceded in death by his brothers, David C. Crain, and Benjamin Crain, and his sister, Doniva Laubach.

Family and friends are invited to attend an informal memorial on Wednesday, Oct. 16, from 4 to 6 p.m., at the Galen R. Betzer Funeral Service, 108 N. Main St., Muncy.

The family suggests contributions in his memory be made to the American Heart Association.
