Lawrence C. ‘Larry’ Sechrist

Lawrence C. “Larry” Sechrist, 88, of Williamsport, passed away Friday, Oct. 4, 2019, at Manor Care South.

Born Sept. 3, 1931, in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Theodore and Mary (Kelchner) Sechrist.

Larry proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy and worked for the Navy Shipyard in Philadelphia for over 30 years. He was part of the Williamsport Lions, the F.&A.M. in Philadelphia, and was proudly a first Little Leaguer in Williamsport. Larry enjoyed his part-time work at Weis where he was a social butterfly. He loved tinkering with electronics and shopping, especially for Harbor Freight tools.

He is survived by a nephew, James Sechrist (Deb), of Ralston; a great-nephew, Joseph Sechrist; a great-niece, Brenda Joralemon; and three great-great-nieces.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a sister, Caroline H. Burke, a brother, Howard Sechrist, his wife of 26 years, Grace (Hagey) Sechrist, and his significant other of 30 years, Gladys Brango.

Burial will be held privately in Union Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
