Rev. Oscar S. Wodrig Jr.

Rev. Oscar S. Wodrig Jr., 81, died Oct. 21, 2019, at Manor Care North, where he resided since April 2018.

He was born July 4, 1938, in Williamsport, the son of the late Oscar Sr. and Helen (Cowden) Wodrig.

He graduated from Williamsport High School in 1956, worked at Darling Valve for 11 years, and was a police officer for the city of Williamsport for 10 years, from 1970 to 1980. He graduated from Lycoming College in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science in psychology. He graduated from United Theological Seminary, Dayton, Ohio, in 1985, with a Master of Divinity degree and in 1986 with a Master of Religious Education degree. Starting in 1986, he served several churches in the Central Pennsylvania/Susquehanna Conference of the United Methodist Church, from which he retired in 2004.

Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Rev. Barbara L. Wodrig; daughter, Nora Lee Galligher, of Williamsport; two sons, Daniel Lee Wodrig, of Williamsport, and Dr. Michael Lee Wodrig, of Rochester, N.Y.; and two grandchildren, Jason and Joshua.

Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, was a daughter, Sandra Lee Wodrig.

At his request, there will be no services and burial will be private.
