Alice Ann Hallow Mitchell Simon

Alice Simon, 72, of Austin, Texas, passed away peacefully on April, 23, 2019.

Alice was born Oct. 18, 1946, in Jersey Shore. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Winifred Hallow. She was a graduate of the Jersey Shore High School Class of 1964 and the Williamsport Hospital School of Nursing Class of 1967. In 1980, she moved to Houston.

She is predeceased by her husbands, John Mitchell, and Dr. Jean Charles Simon; and her brothers, Dave Hallow and Charles Hallow III, both of Jersey Shore.

Alice is survived by her daughter, Kimberly (Nate) Savage, of Houston, and her sons Dr. Michael (Sarah) Mitchell, of Kalispell, Mont., and Jason (Tina) Mitchell, of Austin. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Sam, Nicholas, Cortland, Peyton, Keller and Emily; and her sisters, Bebe Gaines, and Carol Armstrong; and her sisters-in-law, Ruth Ann and Darlene.

Alice will be remembered for her loving, happy spirit. Her family always enjoyed her great sense of humor, forgiving nature and the happy notes that she gave to others.

A celebration in memory of Alice will be held Friday, Nov. 15, at Bastress Mountain Winery, from 3 to 5 p.m., John Shaffer presiding.
