Darrin B. Haldeman

Darrin B. Haldeman, 63, of Jersey Shore, passed away on Friday, March 20, 2020, at UPMC Susquehanna, Williamsport. He was born in Williamsport on Feb. 18, 1957, the son of Bruce and Ruth (Grand) Haldeman.

Darrin was a graduate of Jersey Shore High School. He worked as a fabricator for over 40 years at Metfab. He was Union Steward for United Steelworkers AFL-CIO-CLC Local Post 4907. Darrin was a huge Penn State fan. He enjoyed gardening and cooking. Darrin loved to decorate for Christmas. He had a special place in his heart for animals, especially for his cat, Izzie.

Darrin is survived by his mother, Ruth Haldeman, Jersey Shore; a brother, Ronald (Linda) Haldeman, Roaring Branch; two sisters, Caroll Edwards, Williamsport, and Brenda Woodward, Chambersburg; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and special friends, Dewey and Nancy Corage, Linden.

In addition to his father, Darrin was preceded in death by a sister, Mabel Maggs, and his partner of over 30 years, Jeffery Hackenberg.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 26, at noon at Jersey Shore Cemetery, 1103 Locust St., Jersey Shore, with Pastor Janelle Moser officiating. A public memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to The Ruth Haldeman Care Fund at Jersey Shore State Bank, 115 S. Main St., Jersey Shore, PA 17740.
