Raymond C. ‘Sonny’ Brown Jr.
Raymond C. “Sonny” Brown Jr., 70, beloved antique dealer and owner of Crazy Sonny’s Antiques, of Muncy, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2020, at his residence. Born Monday, May 8, 1950 in Williamsport, he was the son of the late Raymond C. and Pauline (Murray) Brown Sr.
Sonny was a 1968 graduate of Muncy High School, graduated from the former Williamsport Area Community College and attended Penn State University. He was the manager of Murray Motors for over 20 years and then, following his true love, became an antique dealer.
Sonny was an avid hunter and collector of antiques and enjoyed all forms of cultural events.
He is survived by one son, Matthew M. and wife Amanda Brown of Muncy; one brother, William C. Brown of Hughesville; two sisters, Kathryn M. and husband Frank Moncado of Williamsport; and Pattie E.B. and husband Charles Guttenplan of Lansdale. Sonny is also survived by two grandsons, Garrett and Colin Brown, and many loving nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Sonny’s life will be held on Sunday, Aug. 23, at 3 p.m., from the Galen R. Betzer Funeral Service, 108 N. Main St., Muncy, for family members with Rev. Robert L. Dunkleberger of Muncy Presbyterian Church officiating. Friends may call on Sunday from 2 to 3 p.m., at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Muncy Cemetery. The family will provide the flowers.
