Jonathan ‘John’ Barnett Weiner
God welcomed Jonathan “John” Barnett Weiner, 64, of Montoursville, to His Kingdom for eternal rest on Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2020.
John was born Dec. 6, 1955 in Sunbury, and graduated from Loyalsock High School in 1973. He spent many years helping his parents at their store, Youngland, before going to work for Pennsylvania’s Department of Public Welfare from which he later retired. John will forever be remembered for his funny antics, great sense of humor, love of cars and engaging personality.
John is survived by his brother, Eric Weiner of San Diego, Calif.; two children, Jacob Weiner of Williamsport, and Amber Weiner, of Lutherville, Md.; stepdaughter, Amy Leffler of Sinking Spring, Pa., and two grandchildren, Madison Weiner, and Roman Girardi. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alex and June H. Weiner, and stepson, Brian Beckley.
In celebration of John’s life, a private ceremony will be held at the family’s convenience. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to Temple Beth Ha Sholom at 425 Center St., Williamsport, PA 17701.
