Wayne Carl Shoop

On Sept. 16, 2020, Wayne took his final stroll in his life to his eternal destination. The last few steps, hand-in-hand with his Lord and Savior!

Wayne was predeceased by his brother, Keith Ray Shoop. Wayne is survived by his devoted daughter, Jenna Rae Shoop of Woodstock, Ga. He leaves behind his parents, James (Catherine) Shoop of Woodstock, Ga.; and Jeanne VanEmon Shoop (Joseph) Shreckengast of Lock Haven. In addition, he is survived by his brothers, Gregory (Cheryl) Shoop of Hughesville, Scott (JoAnn) Shoop of Lock Haven, Mark (Marili) Shoop of Cleveland, Tenn.; as well as seven nieces and nephews, six great-nieces and great-nephews, and one great-great-nephew.

Born Aug. 6, 1954, Wayne attended Jersey Shore Area High School, graduating in the top of his class, participating in football, basketball and track. Afterward, Wayne attended Penn College, the former Williamsport Area Community College, becoming an electrician.

Living locally, he enjoyed hunting and trapping in the Pine Creek Valley. Several years later, Wayne relocated to Woodstock, Ga. He became a certified master electrician, working throughout the south and mid-western parts of the country, but always finding ways to come home to spend time with Jenna. Wayne became a devoted fan of NASCAR, attending many races.

For many years, Wayne struggled with the effects of Crohn’s disease, diagnosed in his early 30s.

A memorial service will be held at Avis United Methodist Church, 215 Prospect Ave., Avis, at the convenience of the family.
