Grace Marie Letterman

Grace Marie Letterman, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, 82, of Mechanicsburg, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Monday, Jan. 11, 2021 at Country Meadows Retirement Community in Mechanicsburg. Born July 10, 1938 in Limestone Township, Lycoming County, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Rose (Keller) Eiswert.

Grace grew up in the farming community of Lycoming County until the time she graduated from Jersey Shore Area Joint High School. As a Navy wife, Grace and the family lived in several locations across the United States and Cuba before settling into their permanent home in Mechanicsburg. Grace was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Camp Hill since 1978.

Grace provided a loving and welcoming home for all her family and friends. She especially enjoyed family gatherings and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved baking, arts and crafts, and family game night.

In addition to her parents, Grace was preceded in death by her daughter Diane Ruth Mshar, two brothers Clarence “Jigs” Eiswert and Fred Eiswert and by her sister Alice “Chip” Miller. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years and high school sweetheart Harvey C. Letterman, their four children Christine Zinda and husband Brad of Ashburn, VA, Linda Hoke and her husband Steve, Wayne Letterman and his wife Amy all of Mechanicsburg, Kenneth Letterman and his wife Tammy of Etters; two brothers Robert Eiswert (Nancy) of Linden and Lee Eiswert (Mary) of Williamsport as well as 13 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2021 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Camp Hill with viewing held from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. Mass will be live streamed, at http://www.facebook.com/goodshepcamphill. Burial will take place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
