Trevor Michael O’Connor
Trevor Michael O’Connor, 38, of Littleton, Colo., passed to heaven on April 6, 2021. Trevor was born on Feb. 18, 1983 in Williamsport, to Michael and Barbara O’Connor. He is survived by his parents; sister, Devon Cortright; brother-in-law, Mike Cortright; nephew, Duke Cortright; very special friend, Paulina Villagomez; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and good friends. Trevor is preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents, as well as an infant brother, Thomas Michael.
Trevor proudly served in the U.S. Navy for 5 years and graduated second in his class in naval submarine school which allowed him his choice of naval bases; he selected Pearl Harbor, Hawaii and was assigned to the USS Pasadena fast attack submarine as a senior sonar technician. He was awarded two highly accredited Navy and Marine Corps Achievement (NAM) medals during his tour. His family received a letter from his commanding officer stating that Trevor worked around the clock to resolve a critical issue which allowed the USS Pasadena to complete its mission and return to port.
After leaving the service, Trevor enrolled in Harbin Normal University in China where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Chinese Language and Literature. He spoke and wrote fluent Mandarin. Trevor served in various senior-level IT roles throughout the years in both Chicago and Denver, as well as working and living on a fishing vessel stationed off Kodiak Island, Alaska.
Trevor and his father had many adventures together, to name a few: backpacking across Cambodia, resting inside the Angkor Wat palace to cool off, walking the Great Wall of China, viewing the Northern Lights for hours, visiting the Ice City on the China/Russia border, and exploring Hawaii land and ocean. Trevor also went solo skydiving over 20 times and had a love for the Pacific Ocean and mountains.
His family is lost without him but look forward joining him and seeing his smile again in the future.
There will be no services, per Trevor’s wish, to honor his life filled with countless untraditional and adventurous experiences.
