Ruth Booth Cooper

Ruth Booth Cooper, 87, of Eagles Mere, passed away on Monday, June 14, 2021 at her home. Ruth was born June 19, 1933 in Muncy, and was the daughter of the late Eri and the late Clementine (Kilgus) Fenstermacher. She married Yarnell E. Cooper and shared 10 years of marriage.

Ruth was an outspoken dynamic woman who enjoyed knitting, sewing, dancing, spending time with her family and the gathers she had on the front porch. Ruth was known throughout the area for her ceramic and porcelain dolls. She also enjoyed helping out at the yearly Eagles Mere Community Church rummage sale.

She is survived by two daughters, Kay L. (Raymond) Wilson of Eagles Mere and Angela R. (Robert) George of Laporte; three sons, David C. (Penny) Booth of Huntersville, Paul R. (Kathy) Booth of Eagles Mere and Gary S. Booth of Eagles Mere; a sister, Frances J. McEwen of Fla.; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and a great great-grandchild.

In addition to her parents, Ruth was predeceased by her first husband, Carl R. Booth on June 8, 1996; her second husband, Yarnell E. Cooper on Feb. 5, 2013; a son, Donald R. Booth; a sister, June Burkhart and two brothers, Melvin and Richard Fenstermacher.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 19 at McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water Street, Hughesville, with Pastor John A. Neiswender officiating. Burial will follow in Eagles Mere Cemetery. Friends may call from 9:30-11 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
