Joan C. Yoder

Early Thursday morning, July 29, 2021, Joan C. Yoder of Arnot, Pa. took a heavenly walk with our Lord down a path to no more pain with loving family at her side. She was born Dec. 22, 1930 in Philadelphia, a daughter to the late Harry and Edna (Keagle) Watkins.

She married Leslie “Ray” Yoder on Oct. 11, 1952. Together they shared 66 years until Ray’s passing on Oct. 13, 2018. Joan worked at the Ward Foundry in Blossburg and later for Canford Manufacturing in Canton until retiring in 1981.

She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Liberty and the Arnot Sportsman’s Club.

Joan was a talented cook and baker that truly enjoyed providing for her family. She treasured anytime shared with them playing bingo, jigsaw puzzling, crocheting, working on ceramics and especially the many family gatherings.

Besides her parents and husband Ray, Joan was predeceased by a son, Leslie Ray Yoder II on July 1, 2007 and siblings, Mary Arlidge, Shirley Ogden, Thomas, Charles and Harry Watkins.

Surviving her are five children, Sonja (Bill) Yeager of Wellsboro, Brenda (Herb) Gerow, Rick Yoder and Lonnie Yoder all of Arnot and Lennie (Mandy) Yoder of Liberty; daughter-in-law, Jan Yoder of Taylor; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
