Grazietta “Grace” Caravaggio

Grazietta “Grace” Caravaggio, 93, of Loyalsock Twp., passed away at her home, peacefully on Oct. 15, 2021, with her loving family at her side.

Grace was born on Dec. 22, 1927, in Rocca San Giovanni, Abruzzo, Italy, a daughter of Giovanni and Rosaria D’Amario.

She had been a member of the former Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church and is currently a member of St. Ann Roman Catholic Church. Grace retired after 25 years at Stroehmann’s Bakeries.

Grace and her husband, Emilio Guido Caravaggio, were married Oct. 25, 1958, and they came to America in April 1959. Her husband of 54 years, died on July 10, 2013.

Surviving are their children; Steven and Susan (Burch) Caravaggio of Williamsport, Rosanna Caravaggio of Loyalsock Twp.; her granddaughter, Anna Grace, her princess and great joy in her life. She is also survived by her sister, Ida D’Amario of Rocca San Giovanni, Abruzzo, Italy and several nieces, nephews and cousins in Italy and Canada. Grace’s greatest joy was her family, she also had a great passion for baking and cooking her regional Italian foods.

In addition to her parents and husband; her brother Attilio D’Amario also preceded her in death.

The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday, Oct. 21, 2021, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m., Thursday, at St. Ann Roman Catholic Church, 1220 Northway Rd., Williamsport, Pa., with her pastor, Rev. John J. Chmil and the Rev. Michael J. McCormick concelebrating. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Montoursville, Pa.
