Richard C. Mamolen

March 27, 1939 – October 16, 2021

Richard C. Mamolen of Brighton, MI, passed away peacefully after a long journey with Alzheimer’s Disease. Born in Jersey Shore, on March 27, 1939, he was the son of the late Jacob and Bessie Mamolen. After graduating high school, Richard served two years in the U.S. Army. After the service, Richard moved to Dearborn, MI and was employed with Cadillac Engineering for 37 years.

Richard met the love of his life, Nancy Lee Hinton in Dearborn, and they were married in 1966, celebrating 55 years of marriage. In addition to Nancy, Richard is survived by sons, Michael (Elizabeth) of Bellefonte, Mark of Sound Beach, NY and Kathy (Kevin) Rupp of Brighton, MI. Richard’s surviving grandchildren are Myla, Drew, Mackenzie and Jacob. Richard is also survived by one sister, Becky (Richard) Polhamus of Chemung, NY and brother-in-law Jerry and wife Sue of Girbralter, MI.

From an early age, Richard had a fascination with trains and classic cars. Some of Richard’s best memories were of fishing trips in Canada with life-long friend, William Merkel, of Jersey Shore.

Richard will be remembered for his dry wit, mechanical ingenuity and his love for sweets. Along with his gentle spirit and charitable heart, Richard had an unwavering faith in the Lord.

Visitation will be held at Keehn-Griffin Funeral Home on Wednesday Oct. 20 from 1 to 8 p.m. Funeral service First Presbyterian Church of Brighton at 11 a.m. Interment at Jersey Shore Cemetery in Jersey Shore at a later time to be determined.
