Patricia Louise Zelenski
Patricia Louise Zelenski, 96, of Montoursville passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 22, 2024.
Born August 5, 1928 in Clearfield County she was a daughter of the late Charles Cecil “Fuzzy” and Lenora (Johnston) Morris. Pat learned the values of love, family, and hard work early on. These principles guided her as she built a life alongside her devoted husband, of 71 years, Joseph C. Zelenski.
Together Pat and Joe created a family with their daughter, Barbara Pish, and her husband, Martin, who would expand the family tree with grandchildren Nathan Pish (Kim) and Nicole Gilson (Lucas). Pat’s joy was multiplied with the arrival of her great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Kamiera who brought untold happiness into her life. She is also survived by her brother, Robert Morris of NC; sister-in-law, Patricia Hollen of FL; brother-in-law, Richard Steir of Hollidaysburg; along with seven nieces and five nephews. Pat’s family was the cornerstone of her life and she relished her role as Nanny, not only to her own grandchildren but also to their friends, who were always welcome in her warm embrace.
She was preceded in death by in-laws Theodore and Kathryn Zelenski, her sister Carol Dale, as well as brothers-in-law Edward and George Zelenski and Chester Dale and sisters-in-law, Mary Steir, Maria Zelenski, Helen Morris and a nephew, R. Joseph Zelenski.
Pat’s work ethic shone brightly throughout her career at the Loyalsock Township School District, where she served as a beloved cafeteria worker. Her faith was integral to her life, and she was a dedicated member of St. Boniface/St. Lawrence churches.
Pat’s interests were as varied as they were passionate. She found joy in square dancing, the thrill of rollercoasters, and the magic of Disney World and Knoebels. An avid fan of “Wheel of Fortune” and “Jeopardy,” she also had a knack for baking, with her pierogies, pies, and cookies being the highlight of many family gatherings. Above all, Pat’s life was defined by her love for family get-togethers. These occasions were a source of immense joy for her, as they allowed her to be surrounded by those she loved most.
A funeral service to honor the life of Pat will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26 at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St. Williamsport. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Montoursville. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at Sanders.
