David L. “Louie” Henderson

David L. “Louie” Henderson, 72, of Williamsport, passed away unexpectedly at home on Nov. 1, 2024.

Louie was born in Williamsport on Dec. 14, 1951, a son of the late Albert and Ruth (Baer) Henderson.

He was a graduate of Williamsport High School and went on the earn his bachelors degree from Lock Haven University. Louie retired as a social worker from Pennsylvania Department of Health and Human Services.

A gifted athlete, he received a scholarship to Lock Haven University, where he represented the school on the basketball court. After retirement, he enjoyed spending his summers at the baseball field, working with the Williamsport Crosscutters.

Surviving are his four sons and their families, Waverly (Dione) Wright, Demarr Wright, David (Emily) Henderson and Sean Henderson; grandchildren, Bryce Wright, Dante Wright and Jalen Henderson.

In addition to his parents, and his wife, Vanessa Henderson; a brother, Albert Henderson; and sister, Sandra Payton preceded him in death.

There will be a time to visit and share memories starting at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 8, 2024, at Wildwood Cemetery Chapel.
