Paula Roberta Long September 27, 1940 – November 14, 2024

Paula Roberta Long, wife of LeRoy R. Long, passed away on November 14, 2024, in Clearwater, Florida.

Daughter of Robert and Pauline Rook, she graduated from Williamsport High School in 1959.

She worked as an assistant to Dr. Bayer in Williamsport, Pa, then as a secretary to Harold Stroehmann, owner and founder of Stroehmann’s Bakery in Williamsport, Pa, where she met LeRoy. The two married on September 16, 1967. The family grew by one in December 1971 when Laura, their daughter, was added.

Paula was an entrepreneur, owning and operating a restaurant in Montgomeryville, Pa. In 1989, the family moved to Florida, where Paula became an Avon representative, winning the Mrs. Albee award 10 years out of 11. After her time with Avon, Paula returned to the restaurant business, this time with a mobile food cart.

Paula loved to spend her free time traveling, primarily on cruises. When she and Roy weren’t away on another trip, she loved to dine out, trying every restaurant she could. She also loved spending time with her grandson.

Paula is survived by her husband, Roy, of 57 years; her daughter, Laura (Long) Kolesinski, of Ocala, Fla; and her grandson, Sean M. McGuirk, of Riverside, Fla. She is also survived by her cousin, Paul McQuay of Colo; a nephew and niece, Robert Rook and family, of Jersey Shore, Pa; and Cheryl Rook Butters and family, of Browns Mills, NJ.

Paula is preceded in death by her brother, Robert S. Rook of Cogan Station, Pa; and her cousin, Sidney McQuay of Pittsford, NY.
