Peggy Ann “Margaret” Retorick

Peggy Ann “Margaret” Retorick, 95, of Williamsport, passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at Williamsport South Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. She was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Marlin K. “Corky” Retorick on April 8, 1996.

Born July 8, 1929, in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late Lee Cechman and Mary Bernadine (Soules) Wright.

Peggy was the heart and soul of her household, her children remember her as a great mother, a title she earned through her endless love and the kind wisdom she imparted. Her faith was an integral part of her life, and she was a member of Saint Ann Catholic Church. Peggy was known for her routine of reading the newspaper cover to cover and her love for the suspense and excitement of game shows. Despite never having driven a car, Peggy’s independence shone through in her frequent shopping trips to downtown Williamsport. She was a regular on the local bus routes, where all the bus drivers knew her by name, a testament to her friendly and engaging nature.

Surviving are her children Keith M. Retorick of Loyalsock, John E. Allison (Sharon) of York, and Theresa A. Allison of Jersey Shore; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and a brother, Ronald C. Wright of Ruffin, SC.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sons Joseph L. Allison and Kenneth M. Retorick; her granddaughter, Janene Allison; and her brothers, Fred L. and Jack L. Wright.

A funeral service to honor the life of Peggy will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, November 16 at Knight-Confer Funeral Home 1914 Memorial Avenue, Williamsport. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 9 a.m. until time of service at Knight-Confer Funeral Home.
